First State Bank opened its doors as a commercial bank 111 years ago in 1904. Today, the bank operates with nine banking centers located in communities throughout central and western Illinois including Peoria, Pekin, Macomb, Monmouth, Carthage, LaHarpe, Hamilton, Blandinsville and Colusa, Illinois.
In the fall of 2008, First State expanded to the Peoria market, with a new loan production office in Peoria staffed by veteran Peoria bankers. The bank opened a full service banking center in Peoria in 2012 and now resides in a new banking center at 9000 North Knoxville Avenue.
In 2014 First State continued to expand its footprint with the opening of two new offices. A Quad Cities loan production office is located in Bettendorf. Additionally, the bank’s presence in the Central region expanded with the opening of a residential mortgage lending office in Pekin.
Today our geographic service area covers a sizeable expanse in western and central Illinois, eastern Iowa, and throughout the Midwest.
The foundation of the bank was built on providing best in class banking products and services to the agriculture based communities it serves. Over the years First State has evolved into a full service commercial bank with expertise in business banking as well as mortgage lending.
The bank’s impressive growth is attributed to these three unique advantages: (1) Direct access to the bank’s decision makers who are some of the best business and mortgage bankers and advisers in the industry; (2) The first bank in the region to bring the latest cutting edge technology in banking to its customers; and (3) Innovative and responsible financial solutions to enable their clients access to the funding they need to make their dreams become reality.
Adhering to sensible, conservative standards has kept First State safe and secure for generations. Bauer Financial Reports, Inc. has awarded First State a Five-Star Superior rating and a designation on their Recommended Bank & Thrift Report.
